The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among anxiety, depression and cognitive function of elderly. Participants of this study were 271 community-dwelling elderly in Chungnam, South Korea. The level of anxiety, depression and cognitive function were measured by the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) and Korean version of Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE-K). The mean scores of anxiety, depression and cognitive function were 12.55, 13.57 and 26.47 respectively. The level of anxiety was significantly different by gender (F=4.597, p=.033) and age (F=3.951, p=.020). The level of depression was significantly different by educational status (F=2.433, p=.048) and physical activity (F=10.006, p<.001). And cognitive function showed statistical difference by educational status (F=4.170, p=.003) and physical activity (F=3.495, p=.032). Anxiety showed significant relationships with depression (r=.590, p<.001). And depression had significant correlation with cognitive function (r=-.127, p=.036). According to the results of this study, cognitive function is related with mental health like as depression. Thus healthcare providers including community health nurses shouldconsider mental health to maintain cognitive function of community-dwelling elderly.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among critical thinking disposition, self-efficacy, and stress of Korean nursing students. Participants of this study were 208 nursing students of 3 nursing colleges in South Korea. The level of critical thinking disposition, self-efficacy and stress were measured by Korean version of Critical Thinking Disposition Scale, General Self-Efficacy Scale and Brief Encounter Psychosocial Instrument (BEPSI). The mean scores of critical thinking disposition, self-efficacy and stress were 117.08, 57.12, 2.46, respectively. Critical thinking disposition showed significant relationships with self-efficacy (r=.344, p<.001) and stress (r=-.207, p=.003). And Self-efficacy had significant correlation with stress level (r=-.450, p<.001). According to the results of this study, self-efficacy had positive relationship with critical thinking disposition, and stress had negative relationships with critical thinking disposition and self-efficacy. Thus educators and faculties of nursing colleges should manage stress and self-efficacy to improve the abilities of critical thinking of nursing students. Keywords

In this study, a survey was conducted to examine the relationship among smartphone addiction tendency, depression, aggression and impulsion in college students. The data were collected via structural questionnaires completed by 353 college students located in Cheonan who agreed to participate in this study. There was a statistically significant positive correlation between smartphone addiction and depression, and there were positive correlations among smartphone addiction, aggression and impulsion. Hierarchial regression analysis was used to determine the influence of smartphone addiction tendency and to identify its correlation with depression, aggression and impulsions. First step hierarchy that controlled general characteristics shows that gender (p<.001) influenced smartphone addiction. Explanatory power for explaining the smartphone addiction of the control variables is found to be 5.6%. Including independent variables Model 2 shows a significant increase and the explanatory power for explaining the smartphone addiction is 31.2% (p<.001).Keywords

Objectives: To evaluate the efficiency of the education program for IDC, targeting nursing students for ODA specialists in the medical health field in the future. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The study used descriptive research methods to Identify changes in nursing students’ IDC relations regarding perception, attitude before and after learning IDC educational program. 34 nursing students participated in the study. The questionnaires were a research tool for IDC’s perception that was produced by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). It was supplemented and revised to fit the purpose of the study after receiving approval of its use. Findings: The awareness of ODA of the subjects at the ‘know very well’ level largely increased from 5.9% before the education to 35.3% after the education. The awareness of MDG of the subjects was low at the level of ‘know very well,’ with a rate of 8.8% before the education, but increased to 58.8% after the education. The number of the subjects who reserved a strong level of approval to support ODA increased from 38.2% before the education to 47.1% after the education. The number of the subjects who agreed to expand the size of the existing ODA increased from 11.8% before the education to 32.4% after the education. Improvements/Applications: In order to systematically manage human resources to participate in the IDC business, it is suggested that college level programs to train and administer health care professionals be developed further. Keywords

Objectives: The study aimed at developing and operating the simulation practicum module for team-based emergency care for cardiac arrest patients, and looking into its effectiveness. Methods/Statistical Analysis: The study subjects were 54 senior nursing students in college B who completed theoretical coursework and clinical training associated with cardiovascular care. For the simulation practicum, we utilized high-fidelity simulator (SimMan3G) and debriefing system. Findings: The simulation practicum module for emergency care for cardiac arrest patients was operated in accordance with the development plan, and the preliminary knowledge for the team-based emergency care for cardiac arrest patients was 23.1 points on average, and the score of practice assessment on average was 48.2 points, which were verified as effective. There was no correlation in the evaluation between preliminary knowledge and practice assessment. The study for the development of simulation practicum module carries significance in that it helps for students to adapt quickly to nursing service after graduation, executing the practice simulation for emergency care at the time of the environmental change of clinical practice. Improvements/Applications: it is necessary to further develop scenarios by learning concept and in addition, the effectiveness of verification in team-based simulation practice in various aspects. Keywords

relationships, and internet game addiction in middle school students. The data were collected via structural questionnaires
completed by 590 middle students located in Seoul who agreed to participate in this study. There was a statistically
significant negative correlation between SNS addiction tendencies and self-esteem, and there were positive correlations
among SNS addiction tendencies, interpersonal relationships, and internet gaming addiction. Also, there was a statistically
significant positive correlation between interpersonal relationships and self-esteem and a negative correlation between
internet gaming addiction and interpersonal relationships. Hierarchical regression analysis was used to determine the
influence of internet game addiction and to identify its correlations with SNS addiction tendencies, self-esteem, and
interpersonal relationships. Hierarchical Step 1, which controlled for general characteristics, showed that gender (p<.001)
influenced IGA, and the explanatory power for explaining the internet game addiction of the control variables was found
to be 16.0%. Including independent variables, Model 2 showed a significant increase in its explanatory power to explain
internet game addiction (34.9%, p<.001).
